What is the Best Juicer for Leafy Greens and Wheatgrass? Green Star or Samson Green Power Kempo
If you’re interested in juicing leafy greens and wheatgrass, I’m gunna go ahead and assume you’re also interested in juicing for health reasons. To begin with, mastication juicers are most effective with leafy greens because of the process they use. However, if you are juicing because you’d like to get healthy and you are looking to get a great nutritional value from your juice, you should only consider cold-press mastication juicers (their motors run between 80 RPMS and 200 RPMS). The low speed ensures that you don’t lose valuable nutrients and enzymes to heat or unnecessary oxidation. Here are my two favorite:
Green Star Juicers are easy to use. They look a little complicated when you open up the box and there’s a bunch of pieces you’ve never seen before, but if you just follow the instructions the first time you’ll never need them again! The juicing process on them is very simple. Just cut up your produce so it fits down the chute and juice away. However, because this baby works so hard to extract juice so efficiently, it does juice rather slowly. It’s a good idea to alternate between soft and hard produce to make it a little easier for the juicer to squeeze out every drop of juice. If you notice it’s having hard time, just loosen the pulp adjustment nozzle. Cleaning the juicer is not hard either. It just takes time. Therefore, this is a fantastic juicer for leafy greens. However, if you don’t have the time to dedicate to juicing and cleaning it, it’s not the right juicer for you. Don’t buy it. You will find that you never use it.
However, Samson Juicers are also fantastic juicers for leafy greens and wheatgrass but they’re a bit more practical. The Samson Green Power KPE (also known as the Samson Green Power Kempo) was also designed specifically for wheatgrass and it is also a cold-press mastication juicer (which means it is producing extremely healthy, nutrient-rich juice). However, the juicing process itself it a bit faster than the Green Star. It doesn’t clog up or slow down very often and the cleaning process is a bit easier. The entire juicing chamber can be twisted off for easier clean up (as opposed to removing each part separately). The yield on these juicers is slightly lower than that of the Green Stars, however the juice quality is exactly the same. Therefore, if you are looking for a healthy juicer that works great with leafy greens and wheatgrass, but you don’t have tons of time to dedicate towards juicing, get yourself a Samson Green Power Kempo. It’s truly a very high quality, practical juicer that will have you juicing every day!
